The year of 2019 marks the beginning of Tianjin Binhai Foreign Language School’s new ten-year plan. It’s also the first year of the high-quality development of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city in the new decade. It’s especially the take-off year for the 70th anniversary of our motherland. At this moment, in order to promote quality education comprehensively and implement the school motto of ‘Pursuing perfection with virtue, Pursuing beauty with erudition’, the annual Campus Culture and Art Festival was held in our high school in the afternoon of May 17th.
Mr Meng Xianglei and Mr Zhang Jiedong, who are the grade leaders of Senior One and Senior Two respectively, participated in the festival together with all teachers in the senior high school.
The theme of the festival was “ the Beauty of Art—A Tribute to the 70th Anniversary of Our Motherland”. The festival began with two classical performances: Big Fish by students from Class One, Grade Two and Can’t you see? Can’t you see? by students from Class Two, Grade Two. The Brightest Star in the Night Sky by students from Class 1, Grade 1 and Days in Class3 by students from Class 3 Grade 2 let us witness the beautiful moments of life with youth and dreams. The strong affection from Love each other by students in Class 3, Grade 1, the sadness and majesty from Loyalty and Patriotism for the Country by students in Class 2, Grade 1, the unremitting efforts from I Love You, China by students in Class4, Grade 1 and the grand magnificence from Chinese Style by students in Class 4, Grade 1 interprets the true meaning of Chinese dream perfectly. Then the art festival came to the exciting awards session after the wonderful performances. Mr Meng Xianglei and Mr Zhang Jiedong presented awards to representatives of classes that won the prizes, with continuous applause from all teachers and students.
The festival is unique in that it is thoughtful and artistic, combining traditional culture with artistic innovation. It gives good expression to our school’s philosophy of ‘integrating Chinese and Western cultures and cultivating international talents’ and demonstrates the humanistic connotation of our school that teachers and students make joint efforts to achieve progress. The activity will aspire middle school students to win honors for our school and make contributions to our country in the future.
