Good morning, dear teachers and students. Today the topic of my speech is "Take Actions to Build a Beautiful China".

World Environment Day falls on June 5. Since 1974, World Environment Day has inspired people from more than 100 countries to take part in environmental-friendly action. In 2020 we focus on "biodiversity" with the theme---"care for nature without delay". Everything we enjoy comes from the gift of nature, so everyone is called on to protect our nature without delay.

The wonderful and harmonious environment gives us the feeling of beauty. We live in a green and livable Eco-city. We are studying in the awesome campus, wandering leisurely to enjoy the falling leaves as well as the flying birds and butterflies.

We love the Earth as a newborn baby loves its mother's warm embrace. We love the blue sky, which is just like the eagle soaring in the vast sky. We love the Earth, love everything on the Earth, and especially cherish our only home, but there is still something unpleasant.

Because of over cutting, more and more trees are falling down and millions of animals in the forests are homeless. As a result, tornadoes, sand storms and other kinds of natural disasters are sweeping our homeland. President Xi once stressed: "The harmony between man and nature, and the harmony between economy and society that we pursue, which, in some way, is just like two mountains. We need gold and silver as well as green hills and rivers.” This vivid words show our government’s clear attitude and firm determination to promote ecological development. We should respect and adapt to nature to build a beautiful China and strive for a new era of ecological progress.

Protecting the environment is not a matter of one day. From now on, everyone is supposed to start from the little change in our daily life. Develop good healthy habits. Take care of public facilities. Use less plastic. Participate in activities to make the earth green. Only in this way, can we improve the appearance of the Earth step by step. We have only one blue sky, and one lovable motherland---the Earth that we’re living on.
