Mutual effort at studying teaching materials leads to mutual development

Based on the main target of improving teachers’ overall ability, the English group of Campus 3 held research activities from October to November. The research laid emphasis on developing students’ core literacy which involves the enhancement of thinking abilities, language competence and study interests.

This activity adopted the way that teachers of the same grade teach the same content. In this way, teachers are able to broaden their horizons in the process of reflection and comparison, allowing them to achieve mutual development. In addition, teachers become more aware of the similarity and difference of different lessons. That is how to enhance students’ core literacy and achieve different effects by using various teaching strategies. 








The British writer Bernard Shaw once said: "If you have one idea and I have one. When we exchange our ideas, each of us will have two or even more than two ideas." In the review session after the lesson, all teachers had a heat discussion and expressed their own opinions freely.







On November 15th, the English group held a reflection and summary meeting on which teachers shared their thoughts and gains. At the same time, they realized the need of further improvement on studying teaching materials, attaching importance to study process, connecting different parts of a lesson and arousing students’ emotions. In the end, leader of English group, Feng Hong made a summary. She encouraged all teachers to closely integrate teaching research with practical teaching, and promote personal teaching and learning abilities.
