In September, 2019, President Xi said that heroes are created only by honoring them, and only by striving to be heroes can a large number of heroes emerge at the awarding ceremony of national medals and honorable titles of the People's Republic of China.

At the end of 2019, the coronavirus broke out. From the end of April to the beginning of May 2020, with the support and help of the leaders of Tianjin Binhai Foreign Language School, the English team launched an activity themed "Chinese heroes", and the English groups of every grade held various activities.

Students from Grade One expressed their reverence to the heroes by making videos and paintings. Grade Two took three steps in the activity: praising heroes--dubbing for To the Fighters；singing heroes--the song "To the Heroes" ;and saluting to heroes. Grade Three held an activity of heroes’ stories in the fight. The show of Grade Four contained three parts: a video named “Safe and Sound”; writing letters and reading letters. Teachers and students in Grade Five made a video sharing opinions on heroes. Students from Grade Six prepared a vivid e-drama-“Chinese heroes” .

In this activity, all the English teachers in the primary school insisted on taking students as the foundation. Dubbing, singing, letter writing and interview activities promote students' flexible use of English in real activities, and their interest in learning is greatly activated.
