During the summer vacation, 8 English teachers from our school were sent to Victoria, Canada to take part in a 4-week TEFL program in the University of Victoria.
On September 18, Ms Xiong Hua, Mr Guo Zanpei, and Ms Li Sisi made a presentation about the training to all English teachers from middle school. First, Ms Xiong Hua gave a brief introduction of the program. Then Mr. Guo Zanpei and Ms Li Sisi introduced some interesting and effective class activities. Then Ms. Xiong Hua shared question techniques and strategies used in grammar teaching. Their wonderful presentation won warm applause from the other teachers.
At the end of the meeting, school leaders gave credit for the sharing and expressed their thanks to the three teachers for their hard work. Deputy Principal Yu hoped teachers could put theory into practice. Principal Wang said our school would provide more learning opportunities for teachers.
At the lecture hall of Campus One Director Chu shared her life in UVIC, which made teachers realize the importance of updating education philosophy and increasing communicative and cooperative competence. Miss Yuan introduced interesting teaching methods and activities in doing warm-up, teaching listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar in detail.
Ms Du and Ms Zhang shared comments on TEFL training program with all English teachers in Campus Two. Director Lan attended the conference and gave credits for their wonderful presentation.
The reporter, Lisha Hu, presented from the aspects of teaching theories, classroom activities and cultural exchanges. During the sharing and exchange meeting, the teachers actively participated in the interaction. After the report, Lisha Hu gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the teachers.
Eight teachers' sharing of creative class activities and teaching principles got all the teachers’ involvement and attention. All teachers expressed their sincere thanks to all faculty members and set up their minds to make further contribution to the update progress of our school.
